A white kitchen is classic.

OP asked what was on-trend.

Yes, and the list above with the white cabinets, quartz counters and white subway tile is absolutely what is on-trend right now. Maybe with painted gray cabinets too.

We got drawers in all our lower cabinets and I love them. SO much storage! For the look we did a very light gray (practically white) cabinet and silestone Helix countertops.

Keep telling yourself that because you did it but color is making a comeback next year and an all-white kitchen will look dated.

Interesting. I like it but unfortunately, it doesn't seem very practical for kitchens that are on the dark side (like mine).

I think it's awful and *might* be ok if you have a ton of light (and notice that in the second link, the floors are white and there are windows). Otherwise, it's like one huge cave.

Plus, you are deluding yourself if you think dark cabs won't show every scratch, stain, etc. Ask anyone who has dark-stained hardwood floors.

Call me crazy, but I love these Ikea UK black kitchens:

Yeah, it's personal taste. I do not like the dark cabs at all, but it's your kitchen so you should do what you want. I do like the light grey or colored cabs look.

We are about to remodel ours and I love the look of gray cabinets. But will they look dated soon? Wondering if white is a better choice to last.
Here's a couple gray examples I love:

I'll tell you what's not on trend? Using the words "on trend". Ugh, so pretentious and tacky.

Have always been an all white kitchen person.

But I like the Ikea black cab photos. And I love the look of the gray cabinets. However, I think gray will look dated over time and will be later be referred to as a mid-teens kitchen. White is timeless. Very dark cabinets also can be very classic--think English butler's pantries.

White is past trend, but still lovely. But 10 years from now, the white cabinet/subway tile kitchen will be deemed so early 2010s.

Everything looks dated given enough time. If it's not the cabinet color, it's the wood, the cabinet style, the hardware, the countertop material and style, the backsplash, the flooring, etc. Get something fairly neutral that you really like and that will wear well.

So, please, what is on-trend? I'm not the OP, but the other posters insisting that a white kitchen is dated are not providing much information. I also can't stand the term on-trend, but that's for another discussion!

This may be true for the whole combination, but white cabinets are a classic. The subway tile backsplash will be very easy to change out for something else.
