How many girl Charlies do you know?

Anonymous
Hey all,

Thanks in advance, crossing over from expectant moms to get some concept of whats happening in the schools.

I want to name my daughter Charlotte and call her Charlie (charlie is a multi generational family name for boys that my siblings are planning on using so there is a nice amount of symmetry). I have had this plan for YEARS but suddenly its the bees knees. How popular is this? Are there multiple girl Charlies in the elementary schools right now? I don't care as much about the popularity of Charlotte, more the nickname.

Thanks in advance.

I know one girl Charlie, who's a lovely 8 yo in NJ.

I should say my kids are 4 and 2, in different childcare situations, and we know zero Charlies at either childcare center.

I know two. One is a newborn, the other is 3 years old.

One, whose actual name is Charlie, not a Charlotte or something else.

2. One is around 9 months and the other one is 23. I think the older one has an actual name but I've never head anyone use it in the 5 years I've known her.

Why would you call a girl Charlie!?! Unless it really fits with her fun, sporty, tom boyish personality - call her Charlotte.

Because OP is a multi-generational family name -- as OP explained.

OP, I know zero girl Charlies. I also know zero boy Charlies. I have a daughter named Charlotte, who goes by Charlotte.

I explained it, and if we do this we're giving her Charlotte to fall back on if she feels like she hates it. Wasn't asking what you thought, just asking if you know any.

I'm seeing a lot of infants :-/

I don't want to be inadvertantly in the 1st wave of the new Aiden, thanks all
