My cup runneth over. We got into Lee Montessori for PK3, and I have been getting very jazzed about sending our daughter there. I like the school's administration, and feel good about the parents we've met, but I have also really enjoyed learning about the Montessori method. I like the idea of my child growing up and learning in a Montessori environment. THAT SAID, when we were going to open houses, I got jazzed about several more traditional schools, so it's hard to say that my current level of excitement isn't partially attributable to exposure.
We just got off the wait list for Stokes (French). It's about five minutes closer to our home, so that's 20 minutes/day of decreased schlepping, which is important to us. I know that Stokes is considered by many to be a great school. We actually didn't get the chance to attend an open house, thanks to a snow delay on the one day we could do it, so I don't have a lot of examples for WHY it's great. Would any current Stokes parents (both PK and upper, as we would hopefully continue on!), please weigh in on your experience? If Lee could announce their location for 2016, this decision would be so much easier, but we just have to make the best decision we can with the information we have. I am thankful to have such a tough decision to make. Thanks! |
Very jealous of your options But Stokes all the way. Dual language, DCI feeder, well-established...

+1 add to that uncertainty of Lee location after next school year. |

Happy Lee parent here who understands that the 2016 location can be a stressor. I'm glad you see the many great things about our school... plus awesome before and aftercare (if that's a consideration).
We hope you will join us next year. |
Is it as awesome considering the extreme raise in prices? |
| I like the idea of language immersion but love the idea of installing a love for learning in my child. I love the excitement in my child when he comes home and tells me about the different lessons he's had and I'm amazed at the growth and development he's made at Lee. |
Yes for us it is. It is still cheaper than what we were paying at her PK3 school |
| I like the 16 years of experience running a school over 6 months. Like both Montessori and immersion, but would choose Stokes. |
| Commute + known location + language + DCI as a possible option down the road would seal the deal for me. Stokes. |
What are the prices for next year vs this year? |
+1 |

Stokes.
Lee seems great, but it's great in the honeymoon phase. We know stokes is great. |
Another Lee parent here. After care is fantastic but price increase is extortionate. There are many great things about Lee but however good the aftercare is the price will be so much higher next year that I'm not comfortable bragging about it and pp was perfectly right to call the previous Lee parent out on it. |
This year, $4 for first hour, $12 until 6pm, including enrichment like karate, yoga, dance, Challenge Island, Lego robotics etc. Next year $385 per month flat rate until 6pm, no extra enrichment just MOMIES after care (which is great). |
| I am a Stokes K parent. You would be crazy to turn down such a great school. |
