Serious issues of political issues

Anonymous
I am the one that posted in the political thread, asking if anyone could recommend a good political forum and whose post got deleted. It wasn’t meant as a complaint and I am sorry if it was seen as one. My take from your about page was that your site was about parenting and families and that your thread on politics was as a courtesy to your members.

I am a political junky, and I like discussing political issues. I used to be a member of CommonGroundPolitics. It started out as “the Hillary Clinton Forum” supporting Hillary’s run for President in the primary against Obama. When Obama won, party unity my ass (PUMA) took over, and they went to plan B, which was to support McCain (the enemy of my enemy is my friend). At that time, they started letting Republicans join. Because of this truce between parties, people from the two parties got to know each other and found they had more in common than not.
After the election, it became CommonGroundPolitics, for the discussion of political issues from all points of view. There were some good discussions on political issues, including some hot button issues such as abortion and gay marriage. Some minds were even changed.
CommonGroundPolitics no longer exists and I was hoping one of your members knew of a similar forum.

Title should have been, "Serious discussion of political issues."

The post that I removed roughly said, "I am interested in a forum that has serious discussion. This one is clearly not it. Can someone recommend another". I am not sure how that can be read as anything more than a complaint about the level of discussion in our forum and there is certainly no way to understand it to mean what you have explained above.

That said, I'm not sure what to tell you. I have no idea whether any of our posters know about other forums or not. You can try asking again if you do it in a less condescending manner.

Sorry to say Jeff, but from what you wrote, you look like a toddler grabbing all the marbles and stomping off because your feelings were hurt. Your skin is typically much tougher and your actions much more tolerant.

I have no idea what point, if any, you are trying to make. But, please explain the argument in favor of leaving a thread that's primary point is that our forum does not have serious discussion? What type of response do you think that is likely to generate? Probably not the "serious" type that the poster seems to desire and definitely not on topic for the forum.

OP, try Huffington Post. Or the Guardian.
