| Looking to move in the Silver Spring area-- any recommendation for schools you love in that neighborhood? |
| We love Oakland Terrace! |
| Silver Spring is HUGE. Elem schools that are often mentioned here are: Oakland Terrace, Flora Singer, Forest Knolls, Woodlin and Highland View. Others that occasionally pop up are Montgomery Knolls/Pine Crest, Veirs Mill, Glenallan, and maybe Rock View. |

| We love Stonegate. The neighborhood is wonderful! The school is the best elementary I have experienced. |
| Highland View is really great. Terrific community too. |
+1. Absolutely fantastic principal. |
| Youll get better feedback if you post about specific neighborhoods or schools. |
| Also, people really don't like bad-mouting their local schools, even if they aren't sending their kids. There are some names that almost never end up on the list of schools parents seem to like, and that may be as close as you get to a red flag that it's not a popular school among the DCUM crowd. |
| FLORA SINGER! |
+1. Not only is the school great, but the neighborhood is very friendly, too! |
| Not East Silver Spring |
| What part of Silver Spring? Most of the school named are in 20910 or 20901. If you're looking more east, I have a friends with kids at Westover, where they are very happy. Small school, good community feel. |

You buy for the high schools, not the elementary schools, OP - unless you plan on moving later.
Now, having said that, Westover is a lovely little school that's very community-oriented. We love Sherwood ES. |
Yes! We are moving and I am so sad that my kids have to leave Singer. Great teachers. Great facility. Great support staff. Great admin. Great families. Great KAH program. What am I forgetting? I love my neighborhood, too - so many awesome friendly neighbors and a short 15 min walk to Forest Glen Metro! Keep an eye on the 20901 upcoming listings
