| There is a lot of literature out there on IVF fresh cycles and working out but not a lot about FET. What did you do (or not do) before your FET in terms of work outs and were you successful? |
| I never worked out, and it took 3 FETs for my BFP. I obviously never got pregnant on my own when I was working out and think my very athletic body type has something to do with my infertility. I personally would never risk it during a cycle you're paying so much for. |
Thanks. Did you not work out the entire FET cycle or just post-transfer? The whole cycle is like...8 weeks. Which seems like an eternity. |
Just post-transfer for about a week until a home test would pretty much let me know whether it worked or not. I figured a week was not the end of the world given the stakes. |
Agreed fully. So you worked out normally before the FET but took it easy after? That seems like a good plan. |
Yep - I never wondered if my failed cycles were failed because of my exercising. |
| Fet is fair game to work out pre transfer. Fresh ivf is another story! |
| Was playing soccer and training for a marathon during my FET cycle (as well as during a fresh cycle) .. continued normal routine through transfer ... took it easy after transfer (didn't work out at all for a week and then only moderately until my beta). Good luck! |
| NP here- I had my FET 2 weeks ago. I have had 2 positive betas since my FET. I was told not to work out until the first beta. I am seriously scared to start doing so now but know it's important. Is it ok to start exercising now? Running/jogging? |
| NP, I would think most would say yes, it is OK, BUT do whatever feels right to you .. i.e., if you'd rather err on the side of caution and give your embryo more time to grow before returning to exercise, it will be fine. For those lucky enough to conceive naturally, i imagine most never take breaks in their routines and many probably don't even know they're pregnant for a while... for those of use who have to use ART, however, there's always an increased level of anxiety because of all you have to go through to get your BFP, and you don't want to take any chances with that! for me, exercise is my biggest form of stress relief, so after my FET, i waited till my BETA, but started right back after that. Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy! |
