When will results be in?

When should we hear if our current second graders made it into the aap program for next year? Thank you

According to this AAP office timeline, schools and parents are notified between 4/20 and 4/30 - http://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/files/9Q6GDS43469E/$file/N2401%20FY%202014-2015.pdf

I'm guessing the schools get notified first.

Looks like they can mail as late as 4/30 ( and I wonder whether the timeline was delayed with all the closures this year?) so we may not hear until the end of the first week of May by the time the mail arrives.

As far as I know, there were no delays in when the central screening committee met. You will definitely hear before your AAP center's orientation session. If you can find out when that is, you'll have a better idea of the latest possible date you'll hear - even if it's a phone call.

Central office is sharing the letters will be mailed towards April 30th, have no idea since decisions were made 4/02?

Well, that's annoying. Our school sent a notice saying Level II and III referrals are due by May 1. Do you just apply for that level of service, just in case?

I think that makes sense to apply for Level III, am not really sure what Level II offers

How do you know decisions were made on 4/2?

Look at the timeline - http://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/fi...ile/N2401%20FY%202014-2015.pdf
But they had to do quality control on the ineligible files, so 4/2 to 4/20 seems like a reasonable amount of time. It's the 4/20 to 4/30 for notifying schools and parents that I don't get. What takes so long?

Looking at old posts on DCUM. In 2013, it looks like letters started coming on 5/1 and in 2014, the first letters were reported on 4/28. We shall see....

Anyone know what the published timeline said in 2014?

I was told by DC's home room teacher to look for the letter in early May.

I don't know about 2014, but I have some info in my file from 2013. Packets were due on February 8, and my son's eligibility decision was signed April 12th. The letter was dated April 30th. I must have barely had the letter in hand, because the letter notes that orientation was on May 6th!
