Anyone?

It was a VA Presidents Cup U16G 12:00 game. Team came all the way from VA Beach.

So the 12pm game knocked out the 11am and 1pm ECNL games.

McLean should forfeit this game too. And be banned from all State and Presidents cup competition for a period of five years.

I agree

The VYSA link from PP shows the match was between a team from Burke and VA Beach so McLean/VA Union had nothing to do with it. Fairfax County parks & rec or whoever gave the field permit to both VYSA and McLean for the same day and time screwed up.

So what you do is play the 11am ECNL game and finish at 1230pm…And then play State cup game from 1230 - 200pm. And then the 1pm ECNL game at 2pm.

Not that hard when adults take leadership.

You’re the first person to ever mention banning.

It’s actually more involved than that. 03/04 games are 90 minutes plus half time so it wouldn’t finish by 12:30 and I’m sure the teams playing President’s Cup would actually like to warm up adequately as would the 06 teams which is why ECNL spaces games 2 hours apart. So games would have to be changed to 1:00 and 3:00. Refs and trainers have been scheduled for certain times by 2 different organizations with their own sets of rules and protocols. It’s not like club coaches can simply override the VYSA on the fly or find new refs/trainers on the spot. And who knows if anything was scheduled on that field from 3:00 and beyond either. But keep whining though.

ECNL game was at 11am. An hour prior to this. McLean gave up the field which caused the reports of the field being empty. That was their choice.

Not complex. The ECNL game was an hour prior. They had the field. McLean gave it up.

I am not involved with scheduling for McLean but I am familiar with how it works for other clubs and for the VYSA cups. VYSA people are incredibly organized and thorough. My assumption would be that VU scheduled ECNL games during their allotted permit times, but didn't indicate it in whatever master schedule McLean uses and makes available to the county. So when Presidents Cup people looked for fields, that block of time was available to them. There is no way this can happen without a McLean error somewhere.

That said, it may be out of McLean's hands which game takes precedence. I am not surprised Cup games would. Also, above U14, I am pretty sure two hour blocks are required. McLean can't just decide to squeeze a game in.

Forfeit, ban, re-schedule who cares! Mid-Atlantic conference is weak anyway. VDA 06s will make it to the ECNL playoffs and then get bounced by a mid-level team from some other conference. VDA 03/04 won't even qualify for the playoffs, just the BS ECNL tournament play at the end of the season.

Spoken like a McLean parent who thought it was still 2014 when they paid their club tuition. So bitter.
