People are stock piling water and house items in case of a quarantine
We don’t have to leave our homes to go out and get these items

Also, prepping in case people buy everything up
The preparation starts now

Now?! I started 2 weeks ago, when everyone was calling me crazy.

You know what was actually crazy, the people at Costco yesterday. I walked and walked right back out.

+1. Now, I couldn't bear to walk into a Costco. I could hardly stand my last visit to the neighborhood CVS, where I was one of three customers, but I could hear the sniffles of the other two, two aisles away from me.

It wasn’t the potentially germy folks that bothered me. It was the long lines and panicked mass of people making it difficult to move around the store.

I think the logic is that you really *need* water to live. If there's a wide-spread quarentine, and then something normal but unrelated happens (water main break or whatever), the typical response time will be drastically slower. So having some water on hand will help you easily get through the time until the system is back up and running.

Can’t you just use the water from the hot water tank?

Sure. Or the toilet tanks.

Or spend $3 at Costco to get a case of water.

Many options.

You can have your $3 Costco water. I’ll enjoy sipping from my toilet tank, thankyouverymuch.

Does anyone else need to stop? I am stocked up with an appropriate amount of stuff and I need to stop, but I keep wanting to buy stuff.

Me too! I’m also feeling extra hungry like I need to hoard calories or something!

Yes! I have one cupboard with some room in it and I'm feeling like I need to have something to put there. More oatmeal maybe?

Squeeze of lemon, no problem.

This sparked some early spring cleaning and we took a car load of stuff to the thrift store. Now we have an empty rack that I feel the itch to fill. We already have 3-4 weeks worth prepped, so feel content there. Switching gears to shopping just bargain deals of things we like to stockpile a bit more in case of job loss.

Anyone done zero prepping and just going about their days with some extra handwashing?

My kid wanted black bean soup this week and now that's impossible because you idiots have wiped the shelves clean. Jesus.

That's me, exactly! And for some reason I am loathe to break out any of the "quarantine" foods jammed in my freezer.

Pizza, it is!

Well, this is a thread about stocking the cupboards, but I'm also washing my hands!

My grocery stores are all in great shape unless you want bleach or hand sanitizer.
