DC as in DC Metro, not just that tiny part of this area contained in the district. Ask Jeff. Most of his traffic probably comes from NOVA and MD. |
+1. There is a separate "DC public schools forum." This is not it. This is the "General Discussion" forum. Ergo, you cannot kick us off this forum. |
| Nobody was talking about kicking anyone off of the forum, just pointing out how idiotic it was for someone to be bitching and complaining that anyone from DC dare to post their views here. |
| Wow. I simply cannot fathom why some people would be so deeply and staunchly opposed to meeting kids' needs, and why they are so determined to hold kids back. |
No one said that. The only person saying that is a poster from. DC. The response to her merely suggested that if she only wants input from DC proper residents, she should post exclusively in the DC schools forum. |
We heard you the 1st time. And the next 100 times. We don't agree with you. You just don't want to accept that. By "many" you mean maybe 1,000-1,500 kids with IQs of 130 or more (you're such a sleazy debater). Compare that to thousands of kids who arrive in K not ready for school and thousands more high schoolers who can't read, and don't get me started on the many other needy populations in DC. Then take a good, long look at DC's budget. We have asked you why it's reasonable for your kid to take away money from other kids. You never responded. Time to put up or shut up. NOW. 1. Explain why DC should take money away from other kids and give it to your kid. 2. Solve all the concerns about creating elite enclaves. If you can't/won't answer these questions, you need to move your selfish, entitled butt to the burbs and get DC tested for GT there. |
| Since Op started a new thread I think she has many problems. |
| It is hard when new moms find out that yes, other kids are smarter. Just a growing up thing. |
| Or the realization that some schools are in fact, really bad. |
|
OMG no. Several posters who work in education have explicitly contradicted what's in bold. First you mocked them as trolls or bitter burnouts. Now you pretend their posts never existed. What the hell is wrong with you? Also, "many kids in DC have been tested and found to have high IQs"? BS. Not unless they were already applying to private schools, in which case the WPPSI is required. But a light bulb has gone off: you want gifted programs to avoid paying for private school. Again, what the hell is wrong with you? |
So move to the burbs. Or don't. |
I'm "OMG no" poster. We left our DC condo and moved to the burbs. DCs are in magnets. |
22:18 told posters from VA and MD to stop posting. Reading comprehension? |
Not every family with gifted kids can afford private schools or to move to the burbs. What the hell is wrong with YOU for assuming that they all can? |
