It was more or less uncontested because of his ego. There was no way another viable Dem candidate would have run against him if they truly wanted to be president. They wouldn't have the money or the support of the DNC. It would be a death knell.

He was better than I anticipated, but not great.

Lots of pretty serious mistakes. And, when he talked about having the intelligence of Russia invading Ukraine, I recall that quite differently. I also remember Biden talking about a "minor incursion."

I don’t get how anyone thinks he did well. That wasn’t that much different from the debate. Lots of unfinished thoughts and sentences, loss of train of thought, lots of mixed up words and names. Enunciation is poor. If he’s a patriot he will quit and do what’s best for the country.

Observe when he wants to convey a thought and he can't, his standard response is to stop in the middle of it and say "anyway, anyway".
