The "pine tree" flag - a symbol of the Christian nationalist movement - flew over his beach house for WEEKS. It's even on the Google Maps picture. And he has 3 flagpoles outside his house, where the "Appeal to Heaven" flag occupied the tallest one. A Supreme Court Justice chose to fly it instead of the actual flag of the country he serves.

Which is more disrespectful to our flag - flying it upside down or not flying it all?

All the major news outlets are identifying the US flag flown upside down as the "stop the steal flag," not just the NYT. The NYT broke the story about Alito and the flags. Alito did not deny the story. Maybe you should stop getting your news from X or TikTok or whatever other low-information sources you use.

DP. The upside down flag is a sign of distress and its use hasn’t been limited to Jan 6. No matter how many times you say this, there is no stop the steal flag, and Alito isn’t going anywhere because his wife did this.
