Many "browns" or "blacks" (why do we call people this way?) humans do not trust the liberals and also tend to have "more conservative" values. Can see why people are seeking something different - not found on the current Board or in candidates running.

And white, progressive liberal women use race as a virtue signal without actually doing the work and complexity to understand that many black and brown folks who they claim to speak for don't share their extremely liberal values, particularly when it comes to things like sexual orientation, gender identity and school discipline.

That's why I support the Moms for Liberty. They're very pro-second amendment. Hopefully, they will arm our teachers and restore law and order.

What happened with the lawsuit against mcps - arguing that without an opt-out [reading certain books], the district was violating the families' First Amendment protections?

I though that PP was being sarcastic. But didn't see any eye roll...

I only got through Lynne's and she completely left parents out of the equation in all of her answers, even though she was a PTA leader. I don't get why she pushes the parent voice out. That's a non-starter for me.

Here's a summary of positions based on a recent forum.

Not everyone participated as you can see. Evans and Harris are the incumbents for reference.

I don't think that including the student and staff voices in a conversation is the same as pushing the parent voice out.

If in your definition of the customers of MCPS, which you distinguish as being staff and students in parenthetical, it's clear that you don't view parents as being part of the customer base of MCPS. And that's a problem for me and also consistent with a lot of the criticism she has gotten for ignoring the parent voice.

Another PP, reposting (again) this helpful forum put on by the League of Women Voters, who are professionals who do this for every election, and not for reasons of self-aggrandizement or promoting their brand.

Two separate lawsuits.

1. Bethany Mandel funded by America Legal First Stephen Millers group and another reporter from the UK Foldi are suing that their First Amendment rights were violated because they were denied access to a meeting. Foldi and Mandel in their complaint requested injunctive and declaratory relief, compensatory damages and nominal damages in the alternative to compensatory damages, among other relief. This is ongoing litigation. So if Bethany Mandel gets on the board she will be working with people she is suing. Fun times. Think about how cooperation would work. Is that good for any BOE?

2. Opt out lawsuit is dead upon arrival. Everyone should go online and read it. 90% of the wording in that lawsuit is just bad vocabulary and nonsense. Whoever the lawyers are for the families & outside interested parties are just bad lawyers. A judge already sided with MCPS as an injunction not sure if fully litigated yet. But again please go online and read it, your brain cells will not recover. It doesn't matter which side you are on this issue, the lawsuit itself is just absurd in terms of legalities." For the reasons stated in this opinion, the Court cannot conclude the plaintiffs are likely to succeed on the merits of an appeal. The plaintiffs’ request for a preliminary injunction pending appeal is denied.”

I do think it is important for everyone voting to go online and read these lawsuits for yourself.

If she feels she was unfairly treated and the friction unjustified, she needs to say so, provide evidence of that and clear the record.

What does that have to do with Melissa Kim?
