Relax, GDS Mom. Sidwell has 10 Ivy admits posted on Instagram so far, compared to GDS’ 14. You and I both know that no matter what the numbers end up being this year, Sidwell was/is/will always be superior to GDS. But please enjoy those extra 4 admits for now…

Academically speaking, I don't think so, in fact the inverse might be true. If you take math competitions for example, GDS has done lot better than Sidwell.

Sidwell also consistently does better than GDS when it come NMSFs.

GDS has a very different vibe than Sidwell - the kids seem to take academics less seriously. Not saying it is a better or worse school, just saying.

It is so strange to read about this rivalry here between GDS and Sidwell. I am a GDS parent (of a senior). The school has been wonderful and has also been totally annoying, depending on the day. It’s a brilliant education for the most part. Does anyone actually care whether Sidwell is “better” or “worse”?

Overnight, the posted Ivy count went up to 13 for Sidwell (3 Harvard bound). GDS is still holding on to its lead by its fingernails and a prayer (14). The final numbers will be close this year because I know there’s a Sidwell student waiting to post her Penn admit.

Sidwell is past 20 Ivy at this point. I am sure GDS and the other schools will report additional numbers in the coming days as well.

And FFS, there is really no rivalry. Outside of being aware of other good schools in the city, I haven't thought once in "rival" terms. Lifer parent here. All of these kids are producing outstanding kids who each deerve a spot in the top colleges in the country.

Can somebody please update the count of how many Ivies at GDS and at Sidwell. I am up waiting for results. Will this election come down to Florida? I heard Ivy turnout was suppressed at Harvard among certain ethnic groups due to the US Supreme Court.
