Is it the shutdown of the churches? The imprisonment of people who don't endorse your lifestyle? Christians and Jews fearful for their personal safety?
Please be honest. |
| All of the above. |
| Abolition of straight marriage |
|
The main goal is to cause gay marriage opponents to go insane. Based on the original post, the goal appears to have been accomplished.
|
| Is it that hard to imagine that a gay couple would want the ability to get married, just like straight couples do? How does that translate to your fears? |
I guess the small town pizza parlor getting harassment and death threats is going insane too, right? |
Wasn't even all that difficult. OP, my endgame as you call it? Allowing two people who are in love to be legally married. Really, it has absolute zero to do with churches or Christians. I couldn't care less how it affects you. |
They already have that almost everywhere (forced on us by judicial fiat), and soon will have it literally everywhere in the country. But that's not enough. The online comments regarding the small town pizzeria in Indiana owned by devout Christians were closer to what Nazi Germans might say about Jews in the 1930's. |
But many churches won't recognize your "marriage". Is that ok with you, or do you want them forced to recognize it? |
|
22:34 again. I should add that there is no need for violence.
Allowing everyone the right to be legally married shouldn't have an impact on anyone else. |
| My "end game" is simple : Equal Protection Under the Law. I want LGBTQ people to have exactly the same rights and privileges as I do as a straight person in every State in the Country. |
Np here. Who needs a church to recognize their marriage? My catholic friend's marriage wasn't recognized by his church because his Methodist wife was divorced. He still got married, and it's recognized by the government. Just not his church. So what? |
|
OP,
Being vituperative and bitter is really cramping your style. No one's taking you seriously. |
Gonna turn your kids gay. The worst kind of gay you can imagine. Your son will literally bump you off the sofa on Superbowl Sunday to watch the Glee reunion show. But honestly? I am Catholic, and so I have no wish to harm churches. I want to make sure that my brother in law, who has been in a monogamous relationship for twenty odd years, is not treated as scum. That's it. That is honestly it. |
New poster here- Churches certainly have the right to marry or refuse to marry whomever they choose. Thankfully, many churches are perfectly happy to marry same-sex couples. I attended a beautiful ceremony last week between two of my favorite women in the world. My church embraces diversity and celebrates the divine light in all people. Why would a gay couple care what a church who discriminates against them chooses to "recognize". They want the state to recognize their marriage, not some fundie church. There is a HUGE difference between a church and a government. |
