Another sex abuse case at a special ed school

There seems to be no hiring standards for these schools-will they hire any warm body at all?
This is the same school BTW that was under federal investigation for improper restraints of students.

Reminds me of the case from the Frost School last year.

It just seems like they hire the bottom-of-the-barrel. Why would someone want to work at Pace or the Frost school when they could work for the school system and get better benefits, more pay with less challenging students? I feel like these schools just get the dregs no public school system will hire.

^^the guy referenced in the article above was fired from Katherine Thomas school? I had not seen that reported anywhere-how did you hear about it. Was he fired because of the incident at the pool in the Patch article, or an incident that occurred at KTS?
Given that so many of the kids at KTS are publicly funded you would think the teachers would at least have to undergo the same background checks etc. ?.

I don't know the situation here but I suspect a lot of confusion. I can't find anything on google connecting that guy to KTS. I do know there was a guy fired from KTS a few years ago when it was discovered there had been touching complaints about him at a previous school, not sure if any of those took place at KTS or not (not that it matters). Not sure if it was the same guy.

Btw, I should add that we were at KTS a few years ago and we were totally vigilant, not to say, paranoid parents about these sorts of things. We didn't have concerns along these lines about KTS and believe me we did a lot of grilling and in-person monitoring. I don't want to rely on imprecise memory but my recollection is that there was a guy about whom there had been complaints at a previous school and when KTS learned about them they fired him. I don't have any basis for alleging that any information was withheld from other authorities.

Is it true the teachers and other staff are paid less than at public schools??
