That's a hefty hike. The trade-off is it supposedly will be able to offer more grants to families in need. But middle class Virginia families will take it in the neck as usual.

Oops, sorry, it's an 11% hike not 10. That's what I get for posting first thing in the morning. |
11% for new students, 3.6% for returning. |
Democrat governor. Next up... Rain Tax. |
Then the 5 cents bag tax |
So tuition will be $14,468
Still cheaper than daycare/pre-school |
One of the top public universities in the nation - still a bargain. |
Yep! |
Democratic. You forgot the "-ic." |
I'm so glad we're in the VA prepaid plan. Not that I'm counting on UVA, but all the tuition rates at all of the state schools keep going up, so it nice to know we'll have 4 years locked in for both kids. |
UVA can raise it to whatever they want. Northern Virginia parents will pay whatever it costs - often 'cause they have no imagination to look elsewhere. |
Getting it wrong is one contingent's very special way of letting you know that they're reactionary AND unfamiliar with the parts of speech. |
Just another bubble! |
At this point I'm planning to send my kids to Canada for school, which is a shame, because UVA is really close to home. But it's ridiculously hard to get in, and the prices just keep going up. |
That's $25k less than I pay for OOS at a comparable state university. Still a bargain. |
