Why is Christianity or Catholicism more hard line about abortion without allowing any exceptions? Islam and Judaism doesn’t approve of abortion but actually requires abortion in one instance: if it’s in the case of the mothers life or health being in danger . Emergency abortions to save the mothers life are allowed . The mothers life takes priority over saving the unborn life. It seems insane to me that in Texas, a woman with an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage can die because even abortion of an already dead fetus is not allowed . Abortion is the MEDICINE to treat miscarriage. A miscarriage is medically called a spontaneous abortion because it’s an unplanned abortion
Judaism and Islam do not require abortions. That’s false. Just like Christianity, there are different opinions depending on how orthodox a sect is about where to draw the line, whether with exceptions for saving the life of the mother or allowances in all cases. But neither religion says a woman is going to hell for example if she refuses an abortion to save her health or life. For example, here’s a statement from the conservative committee on Jewish Law and Standards https://www.rabbinicalassembly.org/story/cjls-update-abortion Now here’s the Methodist church (Christian) also agreeing that life saving abortions are allowed: “We recognize tragic conflicts of life with life that may justify abortion, and in such cases we support the legal option of abortion under proper medical procedures by certified medical providers.” https://www.umc.org/en/content/social-principles-the-nurturing-community#abortion So again, Orthodox may be different than Reformed Jews. Methodists differ from Catholics.
