Just received a rejection letter from Maddux. Any other suggestions? My son would be 4 so not yet Kindergarten. TLC won't work since their program is only in the afternoon. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Kingsbury Keep Program, Ivymount

St. Columba's and NCRC are inclusive.

LEAP at the University of MD if your kids' issues are speech related. They have a morning program.

Are you in Moco? There's always PEP. Also, did you look at Diener? We're at Maddux and I toured it and it struck me as very similar but it's quite a bit more expensive.

Where do you live? Gan Hayeled in Cleveland park is inclusive and was great for my child with HFA

You said no afternoons, but can you do only mornings? Therapeutic Nursery program is a great place if you are looking for behavioral/emotional support. http://www.adventisthealthcare.com/LC/programs/theraputic-nursery/

depending on your child's issues you could do the interaction program at tlc, laurie center, or tlc preschool. is your child on the spectrum

It's Lourie Center and in the link PP mentioned. OP can't do TLC program b/c it's in the afternoon.

OP here - Yes, we're in MoCo, so MoCo would be the preference. He's in PEP in the afternoon, so that's what we're looking to keep which is why I don't want to lose the afternoons. Deiner, loved it, but SOOOO much money and we'd lose PEP so not worth it at this point. Maybe next year?

His main issues are social skills.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

We were rejected from Maddux last year. In hindsight, it turned out to be a great thing. We are in Pep Collab and supplement with a social skills group. In the mornings, my son goes to a very nurturing mainstream preschool with a very small class ratio. It took 3 preschools for me to find the one that would work for him in the mornings.

Can your son stay at his current morning program? Have you looked at the ARC?

If it's just social skills have you considered a typical preschool for the last year in the am? Typical peer exposure and all that? That's what we did. My DS had more issues than yours. Pick a preschool near the PEP school and you can get the bus to go from preschool to PEP. You only have to do morning dropoff. This worked very well for us. Post the PEP location and maybe we can offer typical preschool suggestions.

Our HFA child also did a regular preschool along with PEP collaborative. A county bus picked him up at the preschool. It worked out very well.

OP here - he is currently at a regular pre-school but it's not working out that well in my opinion. He needs a bit more structure and they're not providing it. So, I'm not quite sure it would be a viable option for us.

I visited ARC BUT the waiting list is so long it will take several years for us to get in

09:13 poster - which pre-school did you end up with?
