We are about to do so, but wonder if we are making a bad decision.
Yes.
Bad decision,
Seriously? Your decision should be based on more than a name and not based on the random posts of anonymous strangers.
Yes. Don't do it.
You have your reasons for doing so. They are YOUR reasons. They are valid and the only one you have to answer to is your family and specifically the child in question. I'm sure you would not make a bad decision for your child.
Bad choice in my opinion. Daughter benefitted enormously from the people surrounding her, the support, and the demands of her school. Not every student is meant to thrive in such an environment. If you know you child needs a more relaxed approach then you don't need my or anyone else's approval.
why do you want Potomac over the other school? what is pulling you in the direction?

Don't pay any attention to anybody on here. Don't seek approval for your choice. Just pick what is right for your child and your family.

If you live in McLean, you are greatly simplifying your quality of life by living near your school.
Potomac is a very good school, and frankly, not having to commute through daily traffic allows your children more time to enjoy school extracurricular activities and athletics, and still get home easily to start their homework. You also have the additional advantage of having many of their friends within easy driving distance, in that way it is like a neighborhood private school. I think that it is a very legitimate decision to choose Potomac over one of the Big 3 schools, and particularly for Primary School. No, I do not send my children to any of these schools. |
Yes. Don't do it. No one had even heard of Potomac School until 10 yrs ago (and I grew up here.)

If you live in McLean, it might make sense...
But, you need to revisit all the schools to make the best decision |
