| The question is not would you just sit around doing nothing all day, but would you quit your current job if money were not an issue? If so, and if you've thought about it, what would you do instead? |
| Yes. I do financial consulting and love the challenges along with trying to be the best possible service provider. If I didn't need the money, would miss the intellectual stimulation and interaction with people. I would stink at retirement. |
| I would keep my job, but go part time. |
| No, hell no, a thousand times no. 90% of my stresses in life would be eliminated if I quit my crappy job. But then I couldn't pay my bills, and that would bring worse stresses. |
| If I didn't need the money I would probably only work part time maximum (20 hours) if at all. I'd like to write a book but I can't find the motivation to do it while holding a full time job. If I didn't need the money and I could fill my time with constructive hobbies that challenged me then I wouldn't work at all. |

Yes. I would and I did when my husband got a big promotion and we didn't need the income. I did not care about the job at all, had no passion for it, and was denied part time and telecommute when I asked anyway.
Our lives are now 10,000 times easier with three small kids. And one day I will return to a job that I actually care about (I hope!). I had a 10 year career before leaving so I assume that I will be able to find something when the time is right. |

Yes - we don't need the money and I choose to stay.
We live on about 40% of our income and DH and I have about a 50/50 income split. We both really appreciate feeling like we "could" quit at any time. |
| Yes. I absolutely love my job, most days! I am a teacher, and these snow days have reminded me that I am not cut out to be a sahm to a toddler! |
| No. I fucking hate my job! |
| No. It makes me very anxious. |
| Thank you for your responses. They are helpful to me. It is relevant to me because I have a job that is going nowhere, underpaid, and causing significant family challenges for child care, and I've decided to quit it. I guess I was looking to hear that others might do the same thing in the situation. I think there's something better out there for me to be doing. |

Hell freaking no. Don't even think I'd give two weeks notice.
Dh on the other hand is working his dream job and can't imagine anything better. He only makes 95k too. Not even several hundred thousand a year more would change his mind. |
| Yes, but I would probably work part time. |
I enjoy my job, but would probably work fewer hours if money wasn't an issue. However DH just started a commission sales job and my salary is what consistantly pays the bills. |
+1 I do really interesting, challenging, meaningful work, and I love it. But I also don't need to do it full time. In my dream world, it would be three days/week. |
