| No way. Don't hate my job but love my kids more! |
| Heck no. But if I didn't need the money I'd substitute it for something else that I find more fulfilling. Retirement nope! |
| I don't need the money. I need the mental stimulation. I'd make a HORRIBLE stay at home mother. |
|
OMG, NO
My job is very stressful and it's just going to get worse. |
|
NO!
I hate my job. I is daily torture. Constant conflict between project managers that do not have a clue what to do and technical team members that are all indians and constantly play games with estimates and work. Nothing is possible. mind numbing soul sucking corporate torture |

I'd quit in a heartbeat and go work or volunteer at an animal law nonprofit. I'd also use my spare time to write chick lit novels for fun.
My federal government job is soooo boring, but it's secure and flexible, so I'm staying at it while the kids are young. |
+2 Would do just the parts that really interest me as a consultant or p/t. Have plenty of hobbies, interests, and people and places to visit to keep me busy. |
| Nope. |
|
I would - but would do a shorter work day due to my commute. My kids are older (elementary aged) and I would like to be able to take them to school and pick them up after (vs after care.) 9-2 would be great. And having 1 day off every other week to do errands would be better!

| No but I wouldn't stay in any job if I didnt need the money. I work to live not live to work! My husband is the opposite though. |
| We don't necessarily "need" my income but I went part time just to keep my foot in the door, skills up, and I think I am more patient with my DS having some time away. If you can afford it, do what's right for you. It's impossible to gauge a decision like this on a forum. Some people are better parents as SAHM, WOHM, or part time workers. Just really depends on you and your family dynamics. |
| I would walk out today if I didn't need the money. After a long spell at home I would do development work in southern Africa. |
| No, I would happily leave the job if money was not an issue. I would become a Guardian Ad-Litem. |
If I was in your situation, then yes, I would either quit or look for something that interested me more. I happen to *like* my job (not love, but like) but I am paid decently (GS-14) and can work from home (5 days a week) so I have a lot of flexibility. If I didn't need the money, I would *probably* not work, but it depends on what you mean by not needed the money - ie if I suddenly won the lottery (which I don't play) - then no, I wouldn't work. If it means we would be able to pay our bills enough to be comfortable, but not have much extra (for savings, college, vacations etc) then yes, I would stay. If it is somewhere in between, it would depend on the scenario. |
