DS was supposed to visit grandpa but it was canceled. I can't take time off because I need to take last week of march off for other kids break.

Any camps? I hate to send him to bright horizons all week. I hate that DCPS picked a week different than everyone else.

don't worry - they will start taking days away from spring break shortly due to too many snow days.

Also - maybe split the difference the prior week other kids go to bright horizions for a few days and dc spring break week this child goes for a few days.

The Anthony Bowen Y has Spring break camp, but it fills up quickly so I would call right away.

It has only been 3 snow days. Stop exaggerating.

DCPS has 3 days built into the schedule. Overdramatic, much?

Where do you live? That might impact which camps might work. There are some private camps, such as the Urban Adventure Squad, up in NW DC.

There are a lot of camps out there for DCPS spring break - hooped, HRB, often schools themselves send home notices of these programs. Ask your kids teacher or friends.

I can't split my days between breaks. I am taking 2 kids away for their spring break, and DH was supposed to do the same for DS but that trip is off.

Really. Your hatred can be easily rectified. You must be new to the area, the surrounding school districts will and have never picked similar spring breaks. It is one of the few times they coordinate education.

Can your DH still do something with him?

Which week is this?

This. There really are dozens of Spring Break camps during DCPS a break. Even Valley Mill has a Spring Break camp that week.

Lots of spring break camps available. What is your kid into? Or you could split it between BH and day camps, to lower the overall cost.

I was going to suggest Valley Mill. Wonderful camp, and so different from school that it feels like a real break. If you're considering the summer it's a great way to get a feel for the program, and if the summer program is too expensive or inconvenient for you it's a nice way to get a taste of the experience without turning your routine upside down to meet the bus for 3 or 6 weeks.

I signed my kid up for summer there. Do you think spring break camp is still a little cold to do some of the things they offer?
