Can Potbelly be considered healthy in any way?

I don't mean can you make it healthier by getting a salad or skinny sandwich. I mean how many times a week would you get a regular turkey sandwich there or let your kids do so? I mean I don't liken it to McDonalds or anything, but I always think eating out is less healthy. I've gotten into sandwiches big time lately though.

I fail to see how it is much less healthy than buying deli meat, cheese, bread, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard and assembling a sandwich at home. I mean, how "homemade" is a typical turkey sandwich really? Did you bake the bread? Cure the meat? Make the mayo from scratch?

Whoah I'm not the PP but your response is really rude. Also, no, Potbelly's sandwiches are not healthy. Depends on what you order and what toppings are added but still, it should be a very occasional indulgence if you care to eat a healthful diet. Oh, and also: lose the attitude.

The bottom line is that you're never sure whether "straight-forward" foods in restaurants aren't secretly laden with sugar, salt, fat and other things to make then tastier.
Plus there's the question of portion control.
Then there is the equally difficult question of: "Are you really eating that healthy at home anyway?"

I like cold cut sandwiches, and consider them to be "healthy" food.

I order a turkey sandwich there. My husband gets roast beef. Our children like the Meditteranean sandwich wwhich is hummus, feta, artichoke hearts and red peppers.

We often get soups, and the kids get smoothies or milk shakes also.

Once a week, I think we eat there or do takeout.

I think Pot Belly is pretty good as far as fast food restaurants go. I tend to skip any kind of deli sandwich just because the sodium levels are usually off the charts ridiculous. I think their salads are delicious.

No. Their deli meats are like thin sliced Oscar Mayer. Super processed and salty. Deli meats are not a good thing to eat on the regular.
