Olympics Opening Ceremony

I mean I don’t know what’s going on but I do think it’s a stretch you know that’s the last supper — it doesn’t really look the painting in any but the most general of ways (a line of people)

I think the appropriate response to this is “Don’t pi$$ on my leg and tell me it’s raining.”

Not watching, and waiting to hear what the sponsors of the opening ceremony will say, if anything.

I don't get the outrage about this scene and no comment about the beheaded woman and the streams of paper blood coming out the windows (French Revolution).

There again violence and killing has been normalized in this culture, while a man in a dress is enough to cause worries about the end of civilization (ignoring all the men in dresses and skirts aboard the boats ie traditional costumes)

Maybe they'll look back to the Olympics in Ancient Greece where athletes performed naked and thank their lucky stars that today's athletes are clothed

The march to Hell is the most interesting and meaningful Olympic event. It’s captivating and momentous.

You realize it's an international event, not an American one right?

Yawn. No one cares that some obnoxious American won't be watching an International event.

It was not a reference to the last supper but to a painting by Jan Harmensz van Biljart « The fiest of the god » and the singer rendered Dionysos (why would a wine and grape loving man would stand in the middle of the last supper?!)… I guess the internet has decided otherwise

You seem to have watched a lot of it for someone who hated it. Generally I stop watching shows and movies I don't like. I think you secretly loved it.

Oh snap - that’s actually what it was! That one person with her arm in the air, the headpiece on the person in the center.

Wait, so all of the outrage expressed by the MAGA Christians was really because of their ignorance and over-reaction?

We should gave seen that coming.

It’s in a French museum and it’s about Greek gods so it totally makes sense
