I was just talking about this with my mom. Low wage workers are going to get crushed by these gas prices. |
A substantial portion of the working poor live in suburban or small town areas. Public transit isn't going to do anything for them. What helps the working poor is not having inflation or being stupid when it came to the Russians. |
Like Norway, right? |
Norway was Norway before it’s oil boom and is determined to keep it that way. But even there the oil industry is prone to corruption. Their main problem is finding non-corrupt partners. Most of the lowest wage workers do not own cars. |
Please show your math. |
| Low wage workers are the only ones seeing large salary increases |
The GOP doesn’t care about the working poor except as a talking point to bash Democrats, without offering any solutions of their own. |
They do have a solution: trickle down. (We see how well that has worked.) |
|
So does the GOP want the federal government to somehow nationalize oil and gas prices?
This is capitalism, folks. the big oil companies are making bank. If you are going to be mad, be mad at them. |
That's just not true in the DMV. This is one of those things that liberals tell themselves all the time but I actually live near some of the lowest wage workers and yes they do have cars and yes they do drive to work. |
Yes, we should just kiss Russia's ass and let them steamroll Europe.
|
Yep. Big oil is rolling in dough, laughing all the way to the bank while the little people suffer. Direct all your anger and outrage at them. |
I don’t think rich liberals remember that huge swathes of the population earn less than 50K and most of those people drive to work. This will be a huge hit for all of us but specifically hit lower income people hard. But I guess those people need to get on the Biden bandwagon and go get an electric car. |
