Diesel in VA is $5.94 today. Diesel trucks deliver our food. A loaf of bread is going to be $10 by end of May. I already paid over $7.00 for Dave's Raisin bread.

First, they get the oil first, NE last. So these are the new prices.
Second, they are a road dependent state. The gas taxes are needed to support the infrastructure- Ventura highway and all that.
Third, they are heavily visited by tourists. This is one way to get money to support the heavily used roads by out of state visitors.
