It's still a pandemic. Those people should be huddled in their bomb shelters. |

I was there in August 2019 (so right before Covid) and it seemed fine. |
Heads up: violent attack on an Amtrak passenger resulting in head injuries on a Sunday morning, be alert, even with lots of people or security around

I don’t know why that poster is surprised no one jumped in to help. After Jordan Neely, no one ever should get involved. That’s just life in America now. |
I was in the new train station in nyc and it is beautiful and clean and I did not see any homeless people sleeping there. I wonder if they have a law or rules for new station? |
This is so awful. My mom visits from NY often and used to always take the Amtrak down. The past few years, I’ve insisted she fly due to stories like this (and my own personal experience in union station). |
Union Station is basically skid row at this point. |
We were just there too. You needed to show a ticket to access the waiting area with all the benches. I didn't see any seating where you access all the platforms. Union Station should follow that model. |
New way to tell if you’re approaching a dem run city. The smell. |
the food court is sketchy as h*ll. I wouldn’t even let my 11 year old go into the mens room alone - I made him go into the women’s with me. last time we were in the food court there was a man who was still in scrubs, I assume just released from a psych ward, who was very creepily staring at us/lurking. |
And everyone has to sit on the floor, and you have to walk half a mile to get to the actual train, but hey, no homeless people! |
the sketchy areas of the station are the retail areas - the downstairs food court and section with the chipotle. the seating areas by the gates are pretty well controlled. |
That’s how Penn Station always was. You can also wait at the secret entrances below to get on the train before everyone else. No, I won’t tell you where they are. |
