Every time this comes up, “rosé all-day” pops up like clockwork, bashing kids.

Aim high, PP!

Sounds like a nerve was struck. Comments like these wouldn’t be posted if you didn’t insist upon how great ECNL-R is for multiple pages and play down the accomplishments of those kids on the ECNL teams. In other words, you can dish it out but you can’t take it. Anyhow, the kids are great and I am happy for all of them. It’s the parents on this board that need to wake up.

“Play down” the accomplishments? When was that written? Starting early today, again?

Take the day off.

Nah. It’s too much fun to tweak you and your sensitivities. Looks like you’re on here a lot too. I admit it. It’s a fun hobby. Why can’t you be honest with yourself?

Tweak me? You are the town drunk obsessed about what child has done when you’ve played zero part in it. Zero.

You people are A'holes. Kids work hard to get placed on a team. Some get the top team, others the second team. At large clubs there is a third, fourth, fifth, and sometimes sixth team. Not everyone can be on the top team. Is your view that those people should not play soccer? They could love the game and love exactly the level they are playing on and care less about college soccer. They could love playing with friends in a joint endeavor. They could be learning skills so that they can move up. And before anyone says they can do rec, who wants to play for a dad or any dad of a friend?

ECNL-R is the top team for some or the second team for others. Who cares? Why put this crap on a board -- R is for Rejected? Is the PP 11?

Be glad that these kids are doing something good and leave them alone.

The PP is probably not 11, because 11-year-old children are nicer than he is.

I can't believe how snobby people are. The ones not on the highest-level teams may become the audiences of tomorrow. Crushing their hearts and berating them is bully behavior.

No The fact is ALL ecnl and every other league kids will be the audiences of tomorrow. Even the best in the area are below average, Example Griffin Yow was one of the top boys players. He cant even sniff minutes with a DC united team devastated with injuries. To top it off after 3 yrs pro he's still make less than 125k per year.

DD here. The goal is Princeton but just admission w soccer as a part of the application. IB for 3 years at GS until move to hedge. I could care less about soccer scholarships to W&M or Vt. That’s a a distraction and waste of time and money.

I really hope some of these parents' kids turn out alright. The odds are clearly stacked against some of them with attitudes and behavior like this.

Some day when your kid is wiping your ass for the last time before he puts you in a nursing home, you'll look at him with a desperate gaze and say, "Doesn't me getting you into ECNL count for something?" He'll frown and say, "No, you were and still are an asshole." And about a thousand points of life in between, none of this shit will matter.

The only hearts getting crushed are parents on this site.

You guys make me laugh. We know playing ECNL doesn’t matter, but you think playing ECNL-R does? That was the whole premise of this thread and you won’t even admit it. That’s whats really funny. Now you go have another drink and give your kid that second place trophy. Btw, I have news for you, your kid won’t even wipe your ass or try to take care of you because they know you never really cared for them in the first place. You coddled them, instead of pushing them to be the best they can be. It’s all about you getting taken care of versus you being a quality parent.

We see you, and it’s pathetic.

I'm the one who wrote the blurb about when your kid is wiping your ass for the last time. My kid is 11 and plays in ECNL (not ECNL-R) - a year early. Does that make me a good parent? Hell no. It means my kid likes and is fairly skilled at soccer. He might take interests in other things at some point. Maybe he'll wake up at 15 and realize soccer is consuming his life and he needs to branch out. That's fine. I'd like to think I'll be the same level of parent, and he'll be the same level of kid. For God's sake, stop belittling people because they play in one league and not another. You do realize that Pulisic didn't even play travel soccer? I'd say it worked out for him. And his parents have forgotten more about soccer than you'll ever know. Just stop being an a'hole to people. To each their own.

Christian Pulisic played travel soccer for PA Classics.

None of this matters. Who cares if your DC is ecnl, ecnl-r, Pre-ecnl, etc. The alien invasion will make soccer irrelevant

Well, I just put a voodoo hex on you since my shaman was displaced from NO and I’m hosting her and her family this week. I don’t know who you are but she was confident that the hex would stick. Enjoy
