After each of our three kids, I went back to work after 4 months and pumped til 7 months (cracked nipple and diminished supply), 7 months (work got too hectic) and 9 months (wanted to become fertile again ), respectively. It's just whatever works for your family. Nutritionally and emotionally, your baby will be just fine on formula. Some people love to BF and wouldn't dream of stopping before a year, but I honestly do not think any mom - working moms included - should feel guilty about stopping earlier. That said, the int'l travel doesn't have to stop you. The baby can have frozen and/or formula while you're gone, and you just pump and dump while you're away to maintain your supply. Good luck with whatever you decide!
