you think I'm going to vaccinate my kid? I'd rather bury my head in the sand.

Yes, it sounds like it!

No kidding. They accidentally found the actual point. Willful ostriches.

Anonymous wrote:I’m really seething over the CDC guidelines released today. I can’t believe we are going to make our kids wear masks for another school year while adults are able to be out at concerts, bars, etc. Ugh- I’m so angry!! My DD has enjoyed indoor camps and lots of fun summer activities mask-free and can’t believe she has to go back to a mask for school!

So… if my kids are required to keep wearing masks in school I’d like to find the thinnest possible ones. I’m not worried about the effectiveness. I’m not scared of COVID for my kids and it’s not their responsibility to keep the adults safe who have the choice of a vaccine. Anyone else looking for the bare minimum to meet the requirements?

It is your responsibility to the other kids. Quit your job and home school your snowflakes.

My kid is happy wearing a summer weight gaiter. I’d go with one of those.

Search peanutsistersdesign on Etsy. I bought some for stupid summer camp in moco that requires masks outside still. And now I’ve ordered a whole bunch for MCPS in the fall. I’m vaccinated and will vaccinate my kid when available. I think it’s absurd to impose a mask requirement on super young children for literally going on years without any good data to support.

I am also very angry about the mask requirement. I bought some very soft masks from old navy and cut out the inner layer. Now they’re a single layer, very soft thin cotton.

Good plan to teach kids rules and social decency don't apply to them.

Start calling your superintendent and schoolboard. 38 states have said no to masking kids in school. The decision is local. Parents need to speak up.

Literally moved because I saw the writing on the wall with this. No one in that area cares about kids or what any of these mandates are doing to them. To the GASP how could you NOT mask your kid?! people: unless you were masking your kid pre-COVID to protect against RSV you’re a bunch of hypocrites and your opinions matter not. We’re much happier (and healthier) having left.

Thank you for the rec and for the idea to modify the Old Navy masks, pp.

All you pearl-clutchers need to get over yourselves. It is NOT our children’s responsibility to continue to bear the burden of this pandemic for those who’ve chosen not to get vaccinated or even those who are unable to get vaccinated. Again - it is not their burden to bear!! I cannot believe people are okay with forcing children to continue masking while adults walk around maskless.

My kid is special! They don't need to follow your stupid rules!

Better question is when did the left become the party of fascism? Also giving it one more year, then will move to a free state.

I am working to change rules that are harming children and have no clear benefit. But you do you.

Jojo masks are the most comfy for 5 yo DD. They are very thin, stretchy, breathable, cute and they do not hurt her ears one single bit.
