Why is everyone leaving? |
Yes, where is she going? She started at RMSC, did a brief stint at Machine before jumping ship to NCAP. There aren't many other teams left for someone like her... |
People are leaving because they feel the coach only care about super stars. He treats junior national kids like they are absolute trash because they aren't lane leaders or trials kids. Eventually treating swimmers poorly catches up with you, they had to reach a tipping point where kids weren't afraid to leave. When good kids start leaving suddenly everyone realized they weren't the only unhappy ones at the site and it spiraled. As to Sue, no scandal or anything. Believe she is retiring and leaving the area. And my understanding is she was well liked by swimmers and showed them more respect so this will be a blow for the site. |
| Is anyone familiar with NCAP at the Marymount location? I would love some insight. Thanks |
It's very small. I think it's a new group. |
It's been around for a few years but there are some coaching changes taking place right now. |
|
NCAP Marymount was Clark swim until recently. (Mike Clark the founder retired and the site became NCAP - Marymount)
there is a shift in coaches. the new site leader (head coach) is Chris Natoli. Chris has been an NCAP coach for quite some time (i believe at the Burke location) About a year ago, he was named head Coach at Marymount. |
| NCAP North is another that’s privately owned. It hasn’t been a good experience. |
| Can anyone give some insight into the NCAP Alexandria program? |
| also following this with the same question |
| Is NCAP Marymount good? Does anyone have any insight on NCAP Tysons? I am fretting about this decision. Why do there seem to be more openings in VA versus MD? I would think that some of the Washington Golf summer swimmers would start to join NCAP Marymount because of the convenience. |
| Also following - when does the focus on distance get pushed at GP? Are the younger levels ok/still good for a variety of strokes and distances? And where do the sprinters in this area go (other NCAP clubs or otherwise)? |
Because there are more pools and more teams in VA. In MD, RMSC has a monopoly on all public pools and there simply aren't as many teams/pools but still tons of demand. You're lucky to be in VA with lots of choices. |
The floodgates do seem to have opened. Every recent meet I've noticed a former GP swimmer now at a different NCAP site (i.e., AU) or on another team (RMSC and Fish, in particular). Seems like Tom needs to fix the coaching problem at GP and fast... |
Asking because we literally just made this decision to go to GP with an 11 and now I am spinning out. Someone help! |
