Why couldn't they find the teachers, and what does this say about your vision of a second ATS?

I think this is a comment on APS and the post-pandemic school year. Many have retired/quit. More than expected (throughout the district). Even without expansion, ATS will need another K teacher, 3rd and 5th because of previous year expansions. That excludes regular retirements and moves and of course, doesn't include pandemic staffing issues.

Just curious if any one has any further insight into why when I first checked our WL number changed each time there was a date update in the portol, but now it just says updated, but waitlist number has remained the same for the past 3 dates updated. Any thoughts?

Not sure how the system is updated. But I can report that the K waitlist has moved some in the last week. We were offered a spot, and our initial WL number was 8. Good luck to others still waiting.

I think they maybe run all the grade updates together even if a seat only becomes available for one or two grades. But really, just guessing.

^^ I did get off an upper grade waitlist and think there will be a lot of movement this summer. Lots of kids leaving (area).

We are on the waitlist for upper grade at both Campbell and ATS, and we have moved 7 slots since lottery on Campbell list,but only 3 at ATS. It will be interesting to see if ATS list moves more over the summer. We are more optimistic to get slot at Campbell if any with the rate it has been going though.
