Speaking in tongues

Anonymous
I was always taught that the apostles were miraculously given, as posted above, the ability to speak foreign languages, not gibberish. I do, however, believe that you can be filled with a kind of "mystical joy" that could manifest this way. I don't promote that experience as something Bible-based but personally believe that there probably is no better feeling. How can loving God intimately be wrong?

Similarly the bible has passages and stories that are pure nonsense. Speaking in tongues is snake oil.

Nonsense. It’s just a manifestation of faith. It’s nothing to do with snakes or oil. Don’t like it? Don’t speak in tongues. Simple.

I won't speak in tongues because I'm not a liar and a fraud. Simple.

Then I guess you also won't go to heaven because you don't believe in Jesus since Jesus is a fraud, right? Why even bother posting here.

Such threats might work in church, but not here.

People who don't believe that Jesus is the son of god are allowed to post here.

Also, could be that pp has no expectation of going to heaven because they don't believe in life after death.

Someone needs a better hobby.

When I was in a youth group in college, a fellow student began speaking in tongues. Sounded just the same way.

Is your husband Christian? Maybe he's been touched by the Lord. Maybe he's saying something very important.
