positive experiences with Paragard IUD?

| I know this is old but for people researching and coming across this board, I also had a positive experience with Paragard. I found so many horror stories I almost changed my mind about getting it. My doctor said she had put in thousands in her career, but my insertion was very painful. She said I had a tight cervix since I don't have any children so I guess it makes sense. Almost passed out but it only lasted a couple of minutes. Had bad cramping the rest of the day and night, was back to normal the next day. I just got my first period and weirdly enough I had almost no cramps. I normally have bad menstral cramps for days before my period and now almost none. I know that is not common but I did see other woman who had the same thing happen. Been in one month and I love it. Don't have to worry about hormones making me insane and no more money spent on pills or condoms. |

| Have had it 6 months. Periods same as before. Did insertion during period and it was no big deal. |
