The lot is pretty small and it’s a corner, so I wonder if the existing house is grandfathered but it would be difficult to tear down and rebuild new on the lot. I seem to recall the previous owner reached some kid of agreement on zoning issues because the house was in violation when being built and the owner threatened to abandon it half-built if the county didn’t give him certain exemptions. |
| It makes no sense that this house won’t sell and yet they *raised* the price about 350k in the past year. Why don’t they just drop the price to the land value. It can’t be fun paying 15k a year in taxes on this thing. |
NINE kids?? I can't comprehend...how on earth do you have nine kids in Arlington? Or at some point do the oldest kids just start taking care of the youngest and you spin off that unit of the family to operate as its own subsidiary? |
If I could afford nine kids in Arlington we would have bought the house already. No, we are somewhere within a thirty mile radius of the George Washington bridge. Good enough spacing to have never had more than one in diapers at a time of and a big enough income to have five or six bedroom houses. The only inconvenience is the ridiculous gas mileage on the passenger van. And making your older kids parent the younger ones is a solid recipe for having nine kids and no grandchildren, so no, we don’t do that beyond the occasional emergency babysitting. |
They are renting it, apparently. The whole thing looks like some dodgy tax or money laundering scheme. |

It should be called 50 shades of taupe. |

i want, tbh
"it's raining today, kids... go ride your bikes in the living room" |
They raise and lower it all the time. It’s hilarious. And siding is falling off the side of the house you can see driving up Sycamore. This house needs to be imploded. It is never going to sell for anything more than the price of the land on a busy street. |
|
And lowered it again by ~$200K.
Somebody take a baseball bat and...knock some sense into the owner/agent? |
| looks like a hotel |

If I win more than $25 million in the lottery, I am going to buy that house, gleefully have it torn down, and replace it with the absolutely cutest house in the world.
Since that is not likely, Arlington County should buy it, tear it down, and have a pocket park in its place. They were totally duped by the person who originally built it and let skirt every building and zoning regulation. |
| Pending! |
| Isn’t this the one that was just approved to be an assisted living house? |
What?! Is that why it went pending?! Because buyer bought it to make it a senior living house? |
