Sierra is not a hippy name so please stop saying that. Check the rankings for the time period of both babies and the parents at the time. Fwiw, it actually sounds like "Sarah" when Sierra is actually called out loud.

All of the people naming Sierra are hardcore outdoorsy hiking types. All of the ones I know are in finance, law or accounting. They all just really like national parks and nature names.

My DD is Sierra! I like the other names on the list. I'm kind of horrified to read many of the reactions here to her name. I had to look up the car (!) And stripper vibe literally never crossed my mind. I figured we'd be pegged as outdoorsy hippies for giving her the name. Yikes. Well, I guess I feel a bit foolish if this is what people are thinking behind our backs, but I still do love the name and I hope she changes some opinions as people meet her!

Violet is my favorite from this list.

Claire & Emily are too overdone for me, but classic and nice.

Isabelle is genuinely terrible and yet somehow still trendy.

I just don't like Sierra, but I couldn't explain why. It's not because it's hippy/slutty/trashy.
