MD private schools and vaccine exemption

| My private MD schools accepts the religious exemption and didn't bat an eye about it. We do vaccinate but not for all of them and are on a delayed scheduled. You absolutely can selectively vaccinate and use the religious exemption. |

Not too complicated. Pick up the phone and call the school you're interested in and obtain their policy. Over and out. |

In MD, yes. We did at two preschools that have the same requirements. We mostly vaccinate but there are a few we do not do. We included the vaccination chart and signed the religious exemption. The exemption just has you sign and does not ask you to specify why or what religious reasons. Not a big deal but we haven't tried public school yet - we will probably do them before then. |

Many of the schools do not know. You have to call the State of Maryland health department - there is a special section but I forget which it was I called. |

not that simple. many school secretaries who answer the phone have no idea that families who choose not to vaccinate can enter schools. it varies by state as well. |

Most schools have a school nurse or an administrator who must be on top of policy. Simply ask for one of them if the secretary is unsure. |

Yes, but what if DC want to be the next Sec of State, might be a problem if he picked up Polio on his first step ( peace corps volunteer) Also, no one can start med school without being fully vaccinated, or work in international financ, international law, or.... well, your kids are stayin' put in Peoria, right...coarse they are. |

Totally not true, unless this person is a naturopath, or a nurse, which (for the record) does NOT count as practicing medicine. Get an MD. |

Pray you never have an accident in the street or stumble into an ER and the first person on the scene is a registered nurse. Or would you prefer to just bleed to death while awaiting the most holy MD? The MD may write the orders in hospitals but you better believe it's the nurses who catch the mistakes since they have to administer the orders and are the ones who are consistently monitoring the patients. I will maintain my cool and not say what I think of you and your asinine remark. |

non vaxer here in n.v. Sorry for the previous posters viciousness... They cannot handle the fact that they have harmed their own children by doing the most simple, rote, and stupid thing.

IMO the HPV vaccine should not be mandatory for schools because it has no threat to public health the way other diseases do. No child can catch HPV from sitting next to another child or by casual contact in a classroom. |
