Are you chubby or overweight and do you have problems finding dates?

I like a woman with a little bit of a belly. It's cute and a soft place to lay my head. If that extra fat helps round out her butt a little, all the better. Beyond that, it's excessive and not attractive at all. To me. Butt you shouldn't care what I think. I have male friends who only like larger women of the type I'd never want. Those guys tend to be pretty large themselves.

I have been many different sizes and it’s sad but true that it was so much easier to find guys who were interested in me when I was smaller. It pisses me off how many, many people in lots of situations were nicer to me when I fit the standard of “thin.”

My life anecdote to counter yours is a mix pretty healthy mix. More than 'overweight' I think the common thread in those friends of mine is a combination of low self esteem (in thin and heavier women), over enmeshment with their families and honestly, bad luck.

You just say "curvy," "a little big fat," "medium size," "average."

Every single one of those things is just a more euphemistic way to say “fat.”

I automatically think curvy means fat now because people now call fat girls that.

Curvy is supposed to mean Christina Hendricks or Salma Hayek, not Lena Dunham.

No. I would call myself average and I have a BMI of 24.

I think people might be misunderstanding my point. I like curvy as an alternative to chubby.

partner has to have a lot more than being thin and attractive. That's a dime a dozen.

What?!

Okay thank you. Good grief she seems like a lot of things but “the nicest person” is not one of them.

That's what everyone assumes when a woman calls herself curvy these days anyway.

Yep. It’s a ratio, not a size.

This has been my experience, too. I don't have hordes of men beating down my door or anything, but I've never had a problem getting dates. And because I know someone is thinking it -- no, I have not only dated other fat people. Probably most of the guys I've dated have been average weight. Weight does not factor into my decision to date someone.

In my experience, there is a significant minority of men (I would estimate about 20%, but I'm pulling that statistic out of my ass) who are either attracted to a wide variety of body sizes or (a smaller group) actively prefer larger bodies.

Me too. And I’m thin

But it's just a word? Why would you hate something you're not?

It sounds so demeaning. Reminds me of mean girls or an ultra critical mother

That's it. I'm 50. I'm a size 4-6. My mom asked me on the phone a few weeks ago if I was chubby. Ug. She had to comment on my weight indirectly every time she sees me. I see myself doing the same thing with my kids. I don't want to!

Used to be in my early/mid 20s. But I have a very attractive face. Have never had an issue getting a date and being in LTRs.

I once saw a bumper sticker that read “I’m not fat, I’m fluffy” I did that double honk thing.
