Behind Her Eyes?

Enjoyable though, esp the last two episodes. They never tied up what happened after the girlfriend wrote the cop about the murder.

Why did Adele spit out the food she was eating (dinner)?

Why did Adele run around and get the black eye? Was she trying to get heroin? Was she trying to get beat up to make David look bad?

I think she deliberately got the black eye to make it look like David hit her. And of course, that’s what everyone thought. She did that to remind David that she could go to the police at any time and turn him in, if she wanted to. It was her way of making sure David wouldn’t leave her (Rob).

I hated how this ended because I really liked Rob. He was such a good guy who had had a horrible life - I don’t understand why he couldn’t have lived happily with David forever. So weird how his personality totally changed.

Because he was a drug addicted user/manipulator who was at that institution for being a drug addicted user/manipulator. The problem is that he COULDN'T change.

Secondly, once Rob took over Adele’s body, why did “Adele” act so different - cool, aloof, ladylike, etc. Rob’s personality was nothing like that. He was fun, irreverent, sassy. None of that came through in “Adele’s” body.

You can see at the end when they were in the car... I think s/he started off that way as Adele just as he is as Lou.... but as the behaviour escalated/possible signs of drug use, etc... I think it killed their marriage and as the Scots husband moved to exert more control it killed his/her spirit more until they were both just shells.... Rob can do the 'fun' part, but can't sustain normal relationships so it always degrades... an interesting premise.

Well, this can’t be right bc Rob tricked the spirit out of the body and completely overtook the body/shell with his own spirit. We saw the spirits of the women go elsewhere. It isn’t ask if, overtime, he takes them over more than more. His spirit inhabits the women’s bodies, completely, from the moment he took over their bodies. The women’s spirits were gone.

I found that I really didn’t care about David or “Adele” because knew so little about them! Louise was fleshed out more, so it became easy to care about her and Adam. But we really knew nothing about the lives of David and Adele, other than a few flashbacks.

Why was Adele even in rehab after her parents’ death? How did she and David meet?

Yes, he inhabited the body. He will then run this body off the road like he did with Adele.

Adele met David because he was a farmhand or something on her parent's property. I think his family live on and worked the land.

I really hate that there was a kid in the story. That made it tragic. I don’t believe there is a second book, wonder if Netflix will commission a season 2 anyway.

You figure the kid’s dad will get full custody. It was set up that he had a great relationship with his dad and his girlfriend. The kid sees his dad a lot and he’s and involved father.

ROB IS NOT A GOOD GUY. He's the evil in the story. Being a junkie aside, he was jealous of Adele's wealth, and was actively lusting after a heterosexual man. You really need to read the book because you missed the point.

I was actually beginning to think that the girlfriend of Adam’s dad had something to do with everything. They never once showed her and I started getting suspicious. My mistake!

He was complicated. He genuinely loved Adele but loved her lifestyle more. The book also made clear that it was love/lust at first for Rob when he first saw David. Even more than the lifestyle he wanted HIM.

I didn’t consider this and this makes me feel a lot better. I was so upset by the ending, this idea that Adam has to now live with a stranger and all confusion and emotional pain he will feel. I haven’t read the book so I don’t know if there’s more to it but now I’ll just imagine Adam moving to his father’s house and that will help.
