I can’t imagine being 40 years old and having adult children in today’s day and age. That meant she was a teen parent homeschooling little kids. What a drain on society.

From the New Yorker article she had her first child at 16. Why does PA allow uneducated people to home school? They surely will be a drain on society. As a single mother her only employment seems to be reselling yogurt and cheese at farmer's markets. I wonder how much welfare she gets from the government she wants to over throw. I'm not slamming poor people; I'm slamming a hypocrite.

People like her are also why I can't get behind Romney's 'Child' Plan. She would get $3,000 a year PER kid until each one turns 18. You're telling me a anarchist with no redeeming qualities or contributions to society who is already on welfare deserves $24,000 a year for two decades because....she's fertile?
I think she does. It’s less about her and more about the children. But at the end of the day, do I think she deserves that money for that reason? I do. Study after study shows that money is usually spent on basic household needs. And that is what this is about at the end of the day—not about redeeming qualities. We were on assistance growing up and so was about half of my extended family (my cousins ). And it did exactly what is was supposed to because now, in our 40s, you can’t tell the difference between those of us who had the help and those who didn’t. Everyone is middle class or upper class. The benefits just put a floor under our feet, so the speak, so that we could focus on school and work. When I reflect on that, if the families who got the benefits hadn’t had them, I don’t think we would’ve been able to establish middle class lives.

I understand we cannot punish the children. But this woman keeps having children even though she knows she cannot afford them. It just seems in this country, when a person is stupid (like QANON supporters and gun fantasia addicts), we just say "well, there is nothing we can do. we just have to let them continue to burden our society because nothing can be done." I understand that things like forced birth control were used in a racial way in the past. But she is white. why can't we force her to take birth control? Or I just have to continue to give my money to a nut case having more and more children for the children's sake and I'm not allowed to do anything that might limit the amount of money I have to give?

Remember that Podium Guy is a stay-at-home dad of 5 kids. I'd question if these parents see their kids at all or actually parent them?

I think that if you’re a sane person who cares about how your kids turn out it’s hard to imagine how some crazy some households are. My parents got divorced when I was in my twenties and after that my mom was married to a real loser for a few years (haven’t seen him since 2015 but I bet a million dollars he loves Trump and would not be at all surprised if I found out he and his family were at the Capitol on 1/6). I had to go to his son’s house for a family function once. The son had a few kids who looked like they hadn’t bathed or brushed their hair in quite a while. The house was a total dump. When the kids wanted a snack the mom literally threw crackers on the floor for them to eat. I kid you not. Oh and they had a pet snake that they would just let out of its enclosure whenever. It’s easy to be unaware of how some people live if you’ve never encountered it. The whole family was from PA... not sure what it is about that state. I know plenty of normal people from there but it seems to have its share of crazies too.

She...threw them on the floor? Like dog treats?

A friend, who lives in Takoma Park, brags about how few times her kidd bathe.

People like this are closer than you think.

I was just checking the thread to see what her status is right now. I bet they released her since they are letting Jenny the Flower Girl go to Mexico after five felony indictments. I thought perhaps the seditionists were liberally released because of COVID but she’s going into a hot spot. I think Pink Hat was a major conspirator.

She homeschool's the kids despite being a high school dropout. Homeschooling comes with all sorts of grants. Combine that with the welfare and the food stamps and she literally does nothing except live off the government dole.

I'm all for supporting those families that need help but I don't see a problem with limiting the max amount of children one can claim. If Romney's proposal had $10k cap then I'd be in favor.

Do we know she is getting government assistance?
She has an ex husband. We don’t know what her financial situation is.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s totally fair game, just saying we are speculating here.

How is a single mom homeschooling 8 kids?

I'm sure she's sucking up every kind of government assistance that exists. And now she'll suck up more, because jail.

No. It’s all speculation.

I think homeschool grants are pretty rare. But I thought you had to have a high school diploma in most states to homeschool.

I think you are missing the point.

That woman is an insurrectionist yet she may be living on welfare. You don't see the dichotomy there?

I also grew up lower income, and at one point when my dad got laid off, we had to go on food stamps. I now have about $3mil net worth and have paid back in taxes more than 10 fold. So yea, I agree that those kinds of programs can indeed benefit many people in aiding them getting out of poverty. But, she supports a political leader who wants to gut the very programs you say helps people, like her kids.

I am definitely not missing that point. What you describe is a systemic, societal failure. Not really Pink hat’s failure. That said, she should go to prison once due process plays out. Of course.

I looked it up and yes, in Pennsylvania you need to have at least a high school diploma to homeschool. It looks like there’s an option to homeschool your child as a “satellite of a religious day school” or of another school. https://hslda.org/post/how-to-comply-with-pennsylvanias-homeschool-law

I don't see it that way at all. She seems healthy, well-fed, dressed like everyone else I know. She does yoga. She has a job. What exactly is it that society failed to do for her?
