This thread is making me thankful I sat down the day after Thanksgiving, did a massive shop, mostly on Amazon and ended up with Fed Ex doing mostly of the delivery.
Not because I’m some super organized Wonder Woman, mind you, but because I hate doing it, soI wanted it off my plate. SMH. |
I did that too. It was an Amazon, GAP, Land's End Christmas. I knew there was trouble with the USPS and that's why I voted early and in person. Unfortunatley I bought my son a pair of Costa sunglasses from eBay for $30 less than Amazon with free shipping. Purchased on 12-8-20 and they sat at a local post office until 12-26-20. I just printed a picture and wrapped that. I appreciate the job postal employees do. It's not their fault that their leader hijacked their equipment. |

Getting rid of DeJoy is complicated but this should help unf#ck the USPS:

That was me as PP to you. They are out delivering mail at about 6 pm every day in my neighborhood. The mail used to come at two in the before times. They also deliver packages on Sundays which I never noticed before. I feel so sorry for USPS employees right now. Trump and DeJoy were criminally incompetent. I love how Trump lost partially because Republicans were afraid to vote by mail.

Part of the problem is a change in attitude at the USPS especially at local post offices. The mandates that came down from DeJoy and this unqualified board is that they were more concerned about costs than about service. Pre-DeJoy, the USPS used to do their work, ensure that certain tasks were completed daily, took pride in their work and service. After DeDoy, they were told to work certain hours, and to clock out at a certain time regardless of if work was done or not. They were told to stop doing certain tasks completely that were QA type tasks designed to ensure they didn't lose track of any mail/packages in favor of pushing mail, sometimes without appropriate tracking. You wonder why there is more lost mail and no ability to track mail now? Blame DeJoy and his "cost cutting" measures. I know a few USPS employees who were career and who retired early to get out while they could. Many good postal workers could not deal with the changes or were not willing to deal and found other employment. Employee moral has been killed from the top-down. Unfortunately, only the postal board can fire DeJoy, Biden cannot. The best that he can do is Biden needs to immediately fill the three empty USPS governor positions, then get the board to replace DeJoy and then to fill the vacant Deputy PMG position. And they need to prioritize people who understand how the postal service works. Right now, the 6 sitting governors and DeJoy have very little experience with the postal service and they are running it purely for cost savings and have no respect for the service or the employees and don't care whether the postal service is productive or not. |
