| H&S is nice. I've moved on to sending people Honeybaked hams. As long as they are not vegetarian, they LOVE it. |
It's so weird to me that Zingerman's now has a national following and is considered fancy. I grew up in Michigan. It was always a great deli, but it was a deli. Not a high-brow gourmet gift. FTR, DH is from the PNW, and MIL always sends H&D. I don't know if I consider it fancy, but I appreciate some of the PNW products. They're probably tacky by DCUM standards, but I kind of like Wine Country Gift Baskets: https://www.winecountrygiftbaskets.com/ Though, TBH, nowadays my family tends to send each other rare whisky etc. I don't like whisky, so I don't really care. The pears my MIL sends are a nice change. |
| Just received a gift box from Harry and David’s today. Ugh! Pears all brown and looking bruised, Carmel popcorn ugh, cheese like supermarket. Wish I could send back!, Do not use this website. |
| Checkout stonewall kitchen in Maine! So lovely |
| I have nevet liked Harry and David. I always thought I was just odd. |
|
My entire family loves Harry & David and we consider it a fun treat!
DCUM posters are always so dramatic about everything and it’s exhausting. |
+1 to both. |
I've heard that they will send a new batch if you report a back shipment. |
| It’s low quality junk cookies and popcorn. Always roll my eyes when someone sends that. |
Don't let them roll out of your head. |
I always roll my eyes at people who dredge up old threads to comment for no reason. |
| Fwiw I don’t think it’s nice. They sell it on Costco.com |
| I’ve never liked harry & david, and it’s gotten so expensive to just get unripe rock hard fruit in trash boxes |
|
We ignore all their newer stuff because quality has dropped so much.
We will use them - for fruit only - mostly their pears - during the winter holidays for gifts. |
| I think it's still considered nice, and in a way that will never go out of style. Kind of like Williams-Sonoma- not the trendiest, but classic and warm in a way that is very elevated. |
