| Is Danielle a GenX name? Or Samantha? I love both those names. |
1971 Erin here. There was 2 of us in the same grade, all of HS. |
| Maybe there will be a lot of "We named her Jennifer/Cindy/Melissa/Courtney/Amber after her grandmother/"in the next generation. |
| Another vote for Jessica. |

Emily, Meghan, Laura, Julie, Kristen Gen X names I don't like: Kim, Dana, Angela, Stephanie, Ashley |
Yes. Lots of overlap with Gen Y for Samantha. |
My brother graduated high school in 1989 and most of his female friends were named Jessica or Megan. |

I am a Gen X Emily and I love that you love my name and also that you consider it Gen X. I've always looked young for my age and my name compounds it -- Emily really took off as a name in the 80s, so people often assume I'm 8-10 years younger than I am and I have always gotten a lot of "Well let's get the Millenial opinion from Emily" in my job, even from people who are the same age as me! Though as I round on 50 (I'm 45 now), I think people are onto me. |
Interesting! Can you explain why? I'm a "Sara, no H" but don't really care or distinguish between the two. |
I think Emily and Ashley are very much Millennial names, not Gen X. |
| Jennifer |
Ashley was popular with GenX. |
| Gen X. Ashley was a name for my Gen X GF’s younger sisters. |
