Favorite Gen X name?

Is Danielle a GenX name? Or Samantha? I love both those names.

Anyway, it was my childhood best friend's name and now my 16 yr old DD's name. Love it.

1971 Erin here. There was 2 of us in the same grade, all of HS.

Maybe there will be a lot of "We named her Jennifer/Cindy/Melissa/Courtney/Amber after her grandmother/"in the next generation.

Yes. Lots of overlap with Gen Y for Samantha.

My brother graduated high school in 1989 and most of his female friends were named Jessica or Megan.

I am a Gen X Emily and I love that you love my name and also that you consider it Gen X. I've always looked young for my age and my name compounds it -- Emily really took off as a name in the 80s, so people often assume I'm 8-10 years younger than I am and I have always gotten a lot of "Well let's get the Millenial opinion from Emily" in my job, even from people who are the same age as me!

Though as I round on 50 (I'm 45 now), I think people are onto me.

Hate Sarah, love Sara.

Same!

I'm a GenX Laura, and I really like my name.

Interesting! Can you explain why? I'm a "Sara, no H" but don't really care or distinguish between the two.

I think Emily and Ashley are very much Millennial names, not Gen X.

Ashley was popular with GenX.

Gen X. Ashley was a name for my Gen X GF’s younger sisters.
