Liberal concepts benefit densely-populated areas. Taxes that pay for transportation, good schools, responsive police/fire/ambulance.
Conservative concepts benefit sparsely-populated areas. Lower taxes because a transportation system isn't feasible in rural areas. People need cars, period. Also, better just assume your house will burn down before the fire department shows up. So why pay big taxes for that? That's just how it is. |
Cars are driven on roads, no? Which are paid for by...? |
I think the idea is that it's OK to pay for roads, but not on public transportation. |
There are more Trump voters (about 60% of them) in MD counties that went blue than in counties that went red. |
The only wrench in the argument is SSI being a major employer and utilities being almost wholly subsidized by areas where running lines makes economic sense |
That PP seems to believe that roads are free. Or maybe that cars fly, I don't know which. |
This. And that he is in a cult |
Another good map of 2020 in Maryland: |
| Another map that shows how few Marylanders live in western Maryland and the Eastern Shore. |
Yup. Likely more trump votes in the blue areas than the red ones. |
I did the math earlier and Trump's votes in counties he lost were about 60% of his total vote in MD. He got more votes in each of Montgomery, Baltimore County, and Anne Arundel than he did in any of the counties he won. |
