MR Custom Homes

There never has been a neighbor next to a house under construction that liked being the neighbor next to a house under construction. It's a meaningless consideration.

I'll paste the reviews because they're well beyond that:

This company has built several homes in our neighborhood and does not respect the property of neighbors affected by construction. When replacing gas lines they laid plywood on our grass that killed it and never took responsibility to fix the issue despite several attempts of speaking to foreman staff in person. They used a tamping machine on the driveway of the home that shook our 1940’s brick colonial so violently it damaged interior walls and separated our countertop from wall in kitchen. Our only recourse was to call out the Arlington County inspector, but the damage was done and we’re stuck with it. The new home they’re building now has mariachi music blasting all-day long despite efforts of some neighbors to turn it down.

This company builds the biggest, most unattractive houses using the cheapest materials possible! They trash their construction sites, and trash blows all over the road and other yards. We can't even walk our dogs anymore because of all the trash left around. And when one employee was harassing a young girl, the owner of the company said tough luck that's not my problem, even when the police got involved!

We've already discussed how when we build on our lot we're going to give our immediate neighbors like $5K each for having to deal with the construction noise / vehicles / dust etc. We get along very well and don't want that to change

That's... odd. I would never take the 5k. We live in a neighborhood with constant construction, including MR homes.

I think what's key to complaints is how the builder handles them. Matt is a good guy and tries to make things right.

Everything about this sounds like someone unhappy about any change to their neighborhood and all the older homes being torn down for newer ones.

The way you ignore what the reviews say actually reinforces exactly what the reviews say about the company's owner.

As soon as the review said 1940s colonial as the complainant house we knew exactly what’s going on. The second one says “big, unattractive houses.” C’mon. Sorry about the workers music and wind blowing stuff off the site.

The last issue with the young girl should’ve been handled by the police.
