You should tell her she's fat so she can fix it. Please! DCUM is way too tolerant of gross obese children.

She's technically in a healthy weight range, but she loses a pound and she would be considered underweight, which should tell you how ridiculous BMI is a tool. |
LOL. Sounds like you are jealous of naturally thin girls. |

Not every child has a string bean or skinny phase while growing up, as difficult as they might be for their borderline underweight moms to endure.
I was probably built a lot like OP's daughter and I had a big appetite compared to everyone else in my family of skinny people. My mom shamed be into an eating disorder when I weighed 120 pounds at 5'4 in high school. At almost 50, I find it very easy to maintain my weight between 115 and 120 (big appetite and all) and now have the sense to realize that this is not huge! My mom just had issues. |

My 11 year old is 85 pounds and 5'1" and looks really skinny to the point that people (strangers, friends, and family) comment on it all the time.

I agree. I wish I had been taught better nutrition and moderation when I was younger. |
| She’s probably further along on the puberty process than other girls her age. My daughter is 10, 4’10 and 78lb but she still looks like a kid, hasn’t started any of that puberty weight gain. |
+1 DD is 5’1” and 73 lbs at 13. Completely healthy and a late bloomer. We’ve been to several doctors who all said she is naturally thin like her parents. Her growth curve has been consistently below the 5th percentile. People have a hard time accepting that a naturally thin child can be healthy. |
| My teen is 5 feet and weighs 110. Doctor says she's perfectly healthy. Gotta make sure they are on their own curve. Do not compare to others. |
| I think worrying about weight is worrisome. Is she fit and active? Does she eat a wide variety of foods? Less focus on weight and teach your daughter some life skills- hopefully not just obsessing about the scale. |
My 14 year old is the same height and almost the same weight (more like 83 pounds) and her doctors are worried. |
Your 14yo is either 1. already starting or into puberty, 2. has delayed menses due to being underweight, or 3. they're worried that her hormones aren't working correctly. There's a world of difference between 11yo and 14yo. |
