Maret

There is absolutely a group of super smart kids in each class. Some even came from NCRC and have been there since K. Others joined along the way. I imagine it's the same as at other schools.

I think it’s awful for a school to reject qualified siblings just because they might not be the tippy top of the applicant pool. Also, being in a school full of the tippy top students creates a lot of competition and stress in high school which many families would rather avoid.
I agree with this in Maret's case becausue they have MSON which allows very top students to do their own thing if they want.

But MSON is 100% online learning with remote teachers they only see like once a week. Isn’t that exactly what people keep saying we SHOULDNT be doing to kids right now?

There are plenty challenging classes at Maret that are not MSON

Eh...."super smart" compared with what?

I’m sure he/she’s the next Einstein or at least Mark Zuckerberg.

I don't recall Maret having many (any?) NMSF most years whilst SFS, GDS, NCS, STA have loads.

Loads? How many per 50 kids
Anonymous
Probably more than zero

Those schools don't have "loads" and Maret has some. Maret is also smaller than those schools. Plus, last I checked, NMSF is not the only way to assess whether kids are "super smart." Nobody is claiming there are more "super smart" kids at Maret than at Sidwell/STA/NCS, only that there is a cohort of "super smart" kids at Maret. Why are you so desperately trying to refute this? It's true.

I think Maret looks wonderful. I hope my kid is offered a spot.
If my kid scores 1510 on his PSAT big deal, no NMSF but he can raise his score before he takes the SAT anyway. I couldn't care less...

I was a national merit scholar. I graduated around the bottom 10% of my college class. I could have probably traded SAT tutoring for more common sense and discipline. Hopefully maret will do better than that for my kids, even if they aren’t national merit scholars...

Sadly defensive and lame.

NP: the only thing lame is the PP implying that kids at maret aren’t super smart ... grow up.

LOL. What’s a “smart kid” coming out of NCRC? One who knows five colors instead of three?

See, this is why you don’t what to go to Maret. The parents make of 5 year olds while sayimg their kids are “super smart”

Consistent with the people I know there

Make fun of five year olds

I don't think that person necessarily is a Maret parent, just someone trying to cause trouble. The five, or so, Maret parents I know are all absolutely lovely.

DP. But the parents saying their own kids are super smart are Maret parents. That rings true
