Kids at Grocery Stores during COVID

Yeah, god forbid a child goes to the mall instead of doing a Pinterest day of activities. How unimaginative!

My kids actually like going to the grocery store and yes I'm going to continue taking them.

Sure, they'll like it if you never take them anywhere good.

What's a poor single mom or dad supposed to do. You wanna babysit my kid?

If my kids could stay home alone or I could have them sit in the car while I shopped, I would do that. Elderly spouses can wait at home or in the car.

Oh ffs. These posts are really out there. Good thing it's not up to you.

I take mine and they were masks. (9 and 4) there's no lockdown now, so i go to the grocery store as needed. i try not to bring my kids b/c it's easier to go without them, but i don't think it's a big deal anymore.

I meant WEAR.

This drives me insane. One of you can stay home, I promise.

It's called curbside pickup.

You are a really bad troll who lacks even the most basic imagination. Kids can like going to "fun" experiences and also going on errands. My oldest loves to cook and is quite good. She genuinely enjoys the grocery store.

But good luck with teaching your kids that they are too good for basic errands!

You are sooooo mad about kids in stores. We get it.

No biggie.

+1 and my kid is a better mask wearer than many adults.

Send them to the other parent.

I’ve started occasionally taking my 3 year old. He sticks by me, away from others, and wears his mask so well. But he’s also playing on the playground too so, shrug. It’s a risk. Not a super high one. We’ve removed pretty much all high risk and potential super spreading events from our lives. And that’s what is driving most infections.

OP, I am seeing the same thing you are and I think some parents are looking at the case rates around them, taking mitigation precautions like masks, and trying to live their lives with their children. We are in this for the long haul and I want my son to learn how to live with what will likely be another year or more of this.

+1. My kids have done plenty of socially distanced outdoor activities. They go to the library at low-peak times. They are in socially distanced outdoor sports. They like the normality of going to the grocery store occasionally.
