Her suggestion would make it worse. My adhd child did exceptionally well when he could do his work according to his own schedule and pace himself.
The more imposed structure, the worse he did.


But block and seven periods are both imposed structures. Your ADHD son will not be able to do his tasks whenever he wants. He’ll have 85 min with multiple activities.

Is the block schedule for just HS or also MS?
On the adhd question, most kids with adhd have trouble with transitions. I would prefer block over 7 a day.

Both

And some ADHD students instead need daily reinforcement of routines and short turnaround to succeed. There’s a reason why referrals for ADHD students can be higher on Mondays and on the day after a holiday.

Let's see 25 to 30 students, five subjects a day, that's 125-150 students. You want the teacher to meet with each one on Wednesdays? Even ES, our kids were 30 in a class. I guess it could happen in ES, 10 minutes each, but I do not see that happening...
